Frequently ASked Questions

Laundry Near Me Pacific Beach Turquoise St. Coin Laundry

How many machines do you have?

We currently have 23 washing machine and 22 stackable dryers.

What type of machines do you have?

  • (10) Speed Queen 23 lb. front-load washers
  • (4) Speed Queen 16 lb. top-load washers
  • (2) Speed Queen 40 lb. washers
  • (5) Speed Queen 30 lb. washers
  • (2) Speed queen 60 lb. washers
  • (22) Stackable Speed Queen 30 lb. dryers.

What does 16, 22, 30 and 45 pound machines mean?
Each 10-12 pounds equals approximately one standard load of laundry.  Our smallest, 16 lb. machines equal 1 load while our 40 lb. machines can handle approximately 4 loads of laundry at one time.

What is the benefit of so many size options?

Different size options provide you the ability to sort your colors into our smaller machines without adding unnecessary time and cost. Having larger machines means you can wash more loads at one time saving you time and money! You can complete a larger amount of laundry in a couple hours compared to your entire day off.

  • 40 and 60 Pound Machines can clean and sanitize large bedding like; blankets, comforters, duvets.

How long do the machines take?

There is a broad range the machines will take depending on the machine you select and the amount of laundry. The average wash cycle takes between 27 - 35 minutes and dryers between  28 - 42 minutes.

What if I'm in a rush?

We recommend using the Quick Wash feature on our 30 lb. washing machines (for lightly soiled clothing) which will cut your wash cycle time down to only 17 minutes!

What is the cost of washing and drying my clothing?

The cost depends on how much laundry you have. Also, just as utility costs fluctuate so does the cost of our machines. You can expect to spend approximately $4 - $7 per wash cycle and $2 - $4 per dryer.

Can I stuff a couple of bags of laundry into a smaller washer to save money?

We don't recommend this. Customers who pack the machines full of clothing find their clothing is not clean or too wet or dry. This is because the clothing needs to have space to be tossed around in the machine (agitate).  We recommend only filling the machine 3/4 full. Our machines are deep so that's still a lot of laundry!

Is it necessary to remain on-site while my clothing is washing and drying?

Although we are located in a safe neighborhood, items can get stolen. Since Turquoise St. Coin Laundry is not responsible for any lost or stolen items, we highly recommend staying near your belongings.

If I feel comfortable my items won't be stolen, may I pickup my laundry after work?

You may do as you wish. However, Turquoise St. Coin Laundry is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. If a customer is waiting to use a machine while you're gone, your items will most likely get left on top of the machine. In addition to missing or stolen items, your clothing may get wrinkled or mildewed. Any clothing that has not been claimed after 12 hours will be placed in our lost and found.

What should I do if a machine is not working?

Please, see the attendant "On-Site."  If the attendant "On-Site" is not available to assist you call the Attendant "On-Call" immediately at (858) 888-2610. A refund check will be mailed to you or a time to meet face-to-face will be arranged (if possible).

If I return at 10 PM, when the laundromat closes, will someone be there to let me in?
No, our laundromat operates with an automatic timer on our front door, that is security monitored. We open at 7am and close exactly at 10pm seven days a week. We suggest you arrive at least 10 minutes prior to closing to ensure you are not locked out.

If I'm locked out and I need my laundry, can someone let me in?

No, you will need to wait until the door opens automatically at 7am the next morning.

If I'm still inside when the automatic door locks, am I locked in?

No, there is a motion sensor on the doors which will open automatically when you approach.Make sure you have all your laundry and personal belonging before you exit to avoid getting locked out. You may place your items close to the door and move them out on the sidewalk. The automatic door can be held open momentarily but it should not be propped open or blocked as this can damage the door's automatic function, it will also automatically trigger a (silent alarm) to the police department.
